A SUPERMARKET in Largs has been left shocked after they received an anonymous donation of nearly £1,000 to buy items for the town's food bank.
Morrisons Largs took to social media to share the incredible customer generosity that has left them blown away.
The donation has been used to help buy four full trolleys of items needed at the Largs Foodbank.
In a statement, a supermarket spokesperson said: "This week we were blown away by the kindness and generosity of one of our customers (who wished to remain anonymous) after they donated £980 for us to buy items for our friends at the Largs Foodbank.
"We cannot put into words how grateful we are for their support, but we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
"Cathie and Wendy from the food bank came into store today to pick up the first of two trolley collections of donations.
"We know the customer wished to remain anonymous, but we really hope they know how much of a massive impact they have made.
"The donation, which included a contribution from us at Morrisons Largs, brought the total amount of goods donated to just over £1,100."
A spokesperson from Largs Food Bank said: "Thank you so much for this generous donation from a local resident. Your kindness will help so many in these hard times."
