Businesses and local groups across Ayrshire have rallied to show their support for women on International Women's Day.

International Women’s Day is celebrated to commemorate and honour women's accomplishments, raise awareness about gender disparities and discrimination, as well as promote global support for women.

The event is celebrated on March 8 every year, and people are invited to wear purple, white or green to show their support.

The UN theme for 2024 is "Invest in women: Accelerate progress", which aims to highlight the importance of gender-equality measures.

Businesses, charities and local organisations across Ayrshire have used their social media to highlight the amazing local ladies who provide their services.

Arran Whisky has recognised the voices that have contributed to their craft since the company's beginning in 1995.

Troon Welbeck Golf Club celebrated their ladies captain and their club champion for their achievement and support for the club.

South Ayrshire Women's Aid sent out a message to celebrate the strength, determination and resilience of women.

Jiggy Wrigglers East Ayrshire shared some incredible pictures of their women employees who help create a "strong, beautiful and powerful" community for their business.

Charity Harbour Ayrshire highlighted their top five most inspirational women who work to help people recovering from addiction.
