In this week's delve into the Largs and Millport News archives, we stay in 1996 which proved so popular last week.
The Spice Girls had burst on to the pop music scene and were hugely popular with a string of hits including Say You'll Be There and 2 Becomes 1, while Largs' very own Daniela Nardini made her on screen debut as sassy lawyer Anna Forbes in This Life, with the first ever series launching on BBC2 on March 18, 1996.
The drama was about five old college friends who wind up sharing a house together as young lawyers.
The landmark production catapulted Daniela on to the front page of television magazines across the UK in an unforgettable role which still resonates today.
And reflecting on local life back in the day, St Mary's Primary pupils were saying farewell to auxiliary Mrs Margaret Logan after 21 years, with a presentation of gifts made by Mrs Muriel McKillop, PTA, Mrs Sharon Cuthbertson, and Gillian Lewis and Stephen Brodie, both P7.

And keeping on a winning theme, Cumbrae Queen Christine Horn was on hand to provide the presentation of trophies at the Cumbrae Flower Show.

And Largs Academy were very much good sports as they showed off their certificates for their sporting endeavours during the past year outside the old Assembly Hall.
