EASTER Monday travellers are being faced with a wait of three and a half hours to catch the ferry from Cumbrae to Largs.
Ferry operator CalMac is reporting long queues after visitors flocked to the island to enjoy the last of the long Easter weekend.
There is no reported queue for vehicles from Largs to Cumbrae.
A second ferry, MV Loch Riddon, has been drafted in to provide additional sailings to help clear the backlog of traffic on what is traditionally one of the busiest days of the year on the route.
A spokesperson from CalMac said: "Due to traffic volume, there is currently a three and a half hour wait time for vehicles departing Cumbrae. There is no wait time at Largs.
"MV Loch Riddon is providing additional sailings to help with backlog of traffic."
The last timetabled sailings on Monday are at 8.15pm from Largs and 8.30pm from Cumbrae Slip.
