A smaller ferry will be running on the Largs-Cumbrae route today to allow repairs to be completed.
CalMac says MV Loch Shira has been taken off service for essential maintenance.
MV Loch Riddon is expected to carry out the timetabled service throughout April 4.
The ferry operator has warned customers that due to the smaller vessel that their preferred sailing time cannot be guaranteed.
As previously reported, vehicles have been required to reverse on and off the vessel because of a problem with one of the ship's two vehicle ramps.
The issue has now lasted almost a month with sailings being disrupted.
The problem first arose shortly after midday on Friday, March 8, when services were initially suspended altogether.
A CalMac spokesperson said: "To allow essential maintenance on MV Loch Shira, MV Loch Riddon will operate the timetabled service from 1045 departing Largs.
"Due to a smaller vessel operating, customers' preferred sailing times are not guaranteed."
