DRIVERS on the A78 are being faced with more roadworks misery in West Kilbride after four-way traffic lights returned to the trunk road.
According to the Scottish Roads Commissioner the emergency lights have been put in place to reinstate a defective manhole frame and cover near the Waterside Hotel.
The latest works follow months of restrictions and delays for motorists travelling between West Kilbride and Ardrossan.
Drainage works near the Waterside began in November and were originally due to last for three months - only to be extended into May.
However, the latest works won't last quite so long, with the Scottish Roads Commissioner stating that the lights are due to be in place for only one working day, on Wednesday, June 19.
Nonetheless, it's another headache for drivers heading to and from West Kilbride, with Yerton Brae also currently closed during the day for resurfacing work.
The Yerton Brae works, lasting daily from 8am to 6pm, began on Monday, June 17 and are due to continue until Friday, June 28.
