A cyclist has been rushed to hospital after a road accident on the A78 near Seamill.
Reports appeared on social media of a crash on the trunk road between Ardrossan and West Kilbride on the afternoon of Sunday, June 23.
The road was briefly closed but traffic was soon allowed through.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 5pm on Sunday, 23 June, to a report of a crash involving a car and a bicycle on the A78 near Ardrossan.
“Emergency services attended and a man, the cyclist, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.”
