PEOPLE in Millport are being urged to show their support for an Armed Forces Day parade in town this weekend.
Organised by the Millport branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland (RBLS), the parade takes place at 1pm on Saturday, June 29, from the top of Cardiff Street to the war memorial at Guildford Street.
The Isle of Cumbrae Pipe Band will be in attendance.
A spokesperson for the local branch said they were hopeful of a good turnout from members of the public for the event.
Armed Forces Day is celebrated across the UK in late June to commemorate the service of men and women in the British armed forces.
It was first observed, as Veterans' Day, in 2006, and the name was changed to Armed Forces Day in 2009.
