Greenock-born TV star Martin Compston wanted to 'get in on the act' and try out some award-winning fish and chips from The Fish Works in Largs over the weekend.
The Line of Duty actor is fresh-faced from presenting a football review show 'Last Night at the Euros with Compton and Smart' where he ventured across to Germany for the big spectacle.
At the weekend the 40-year-old popped into The Fish Works on Largs seafront with his family to try out some of its popular takeaway dishes.
A spokesperson for The Fish Works said: "The Fish Works Team were delighted to have a visit from Mr Martin Compston at the weekend.
"it was a pleasure to serve you and your family. Lovely to meet you all, not just an amazing actor but passionate Scotsman too!! "
It has been a busy year which also included filming for the new Amazon three-part psychological thriller 'Fear' about a couple, Martyn (Compston) and Rebecca (Vigil star Anjli Mohindra) who move to the city from London for a fresh start.
He has also made an appearance in Soccer Aid and was named Chieftain of the Cowal Games, but The Fish Works team were very grateful he found time in his busy schedule to pay them a visit.
