Largs Academy pupils brought the magical charisma of John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John to the stage in their production of the classic musical 'Grease'.

And the show proved another triumph for the school and its music department, adding to a stellar list of stage success stories.

It 's 10 years since the school's production of 'Les Miserables' at the Vikingar, and every year since then the Academy has delivered a series of strong shows which have never failed to supply the 'wow' factor.

And 2024 was no different as sold-out audiences enjoyed the school's version of the much-loved movie and its classic songs, from You're The One That I Want and Greased Lightning to everyone's favourite, Summer Nights.

Craig Smith, the school's principal teacher of music described Grease as a 'resounding success' and thanked all the young stars who had excelled on the big stage, as well as the production team for such a polished production, and of course, the fantastic audiences who contributed to the excitement and fizz on the night.

Craig said: "I would also like to thank Martin Beattie, who has done sound for every show with me since I started in 1997 and retired as of Friday.

"He will be missed."
