AN AMBULANCE crew was called to Largs pier after a passenger fell ill on board the Waverley.
Concerned readers contacted the News after seeing the emergency vehicle at the pier on the evening of Tuesday, July 2.
The incident happened as the paddle steamer was returning to Largs from a cruise to Rothesay, Tighnabruaich, Tarbert and Loch Fyne.
Observers spotted an ambulance had arrived at the pier when the ship arrived at Largs at 7.15pm.
A Waverley spokesperson said: "A passenger took ill just before Waverley arrived back at Largs last night, so an ambulance was called for assistance."
