A SKELMORLIE girl has played her part in setting a new world record - for the most people 'slimed' in the space of three minutes.
The 'Saturday Mash-Up! LIVE' on CBBC invited 80 children and adults to take part in the record, along with special guests from the Gladiators TV show.
And Skelmorlie Primary pupil Kara Buchan was ecstatic to be one of the people chosen from across Scotland to attempt to break the record, which needed at least 60 people to be slimed to qualify.
The 11-year-old, who will be heading off to Largs Academy after the summer holiday, auditioned to be on the show through Stage Door Dance Studio in Greenock.
She said: "My dance teacher asked if I wanted to audition and I was chosen out of 1,000 kids. I was very, very excited. I just couldn't believe that I was chosen.
"When we got there, we filmed an intro first, then put on our T-shirts and got ready to try to break the record.
"I wasn't scared at all because I have been on telly before.
"It was so fun because I got to slime one of the TV presenters. I can't wait to tell my friends at school what I did."
With seven 'sliming' attempts disqualified, a total of 73 people were slimed in two minutes and 30 seconds.
Each person had to tip their bucket over the person next to them.
For a sliming to be successful, the slime had to land on their head and spill onto their bodies.
Her proud dad Andy said: "Kara really enjoyed herself which, as a dad, always make me happy.
"It was a fun event and I could see that everyone was determined to break the record.
"She did really well and I am always proud of her."
