A POPULAR bar in Largs has applied for a change to its licence to cover a planned new outdoor barbecue and grill facility.
Sharps Bar, at the corner of Nelson Street and Boyd Street, is seeking permission to amend its layout plan and operating plan to add an "external covered area at the end of the beer garden".
This area, according to the bar's application to the North Ayrshire licensing board, "will have a BBQ and grill facility to serve customers food, as well as a wet dispense for the sale of alcoholic beverages".
The business was taken over by Nick and Sara Veitch in March 2022.

It has since become one of the town's busiest bars, with regular live music, events and its popular Oktoberfest celebrations.
In addition to the amendment to its layout and operating plan, the business is also seeking permission to amend the description of its premises and to amend the times at which children and young people would be allowed access to the venue.
The deadline for objections to the application, which was lodged with local authority bosses last week, is Friday, August 9.
Members of the North Ayrshire licensing board are expected to meet on August 14 to discuss the application and make a decision.
