In this week's delve back into the News archives, we head back to the end of the 1970s.
Country dancing was a popular activity on the Largs seafront in 1979, with plenty of young participants taking part in some traditional Scottish dance.
The marquee is up in case of any rain, and the original Nardini's cafe building can be seen in the background with the familiar logo of the period.
Brisbane Queen Fiona Boyd, centre, was pictured at the youth club disco in Largs, where the likes of Message In A Bottle by The Police and Dreaming by Blondie might have been on the DJ's set list
The Marine and Curlinghall Hotel was a very familiar venue for evening dances but this time for ballroom dancing.
There are plenty of familiar Largs faces in here including Willie and Anne Murdoch on the front row, with the original elegance very much in evidence with suits and bow-ties, and beautiful evening dresses, very much capturing the era.
Cumbrae Choral Society were also pictured preparing for their performance of Handel's Messiah in the Cathedral of the Isles, with their members including the late Effie Kerr.
And Fairlie Youth Club were also pictured on a busy night of activities at the Village Hall. The group featured here includes Fiona Houston, Laura Ferguson, Anne Brown and Rhona Prentice.
