Astronomy, ballroom dancing, and how best to defend yourself in the new digital world are among the range of classes being taught locally in adult education classes this autumn.

The autumn syllabus for adult education classes at West Kilbride Community Centre is now available online.

A spokesperson for West Kilbride Adult Educations said: "We have a' How best to defend yourself in the new digital world' class which is free of charge, and runs on Tuesday mornings for six weeks from 10am until 12 midday.

"This is a class for those who feel left behind by the digital world that is enclosing in on them and frustratingly changing the world they know.

"This course will take the digitally challenged and provide a clear and concise guide to understanding and being safe in the digital world of social media, shopping, banking, scamming, and even some nice things will be covered in a safe, relaxed, friendly and positive class."

Look out for some exciting new classes including play reading, chair yoga, Reiki, as well as our established classes in art and craft, yoga and Pilates, Bridge, music, dancing and many others.

There are language classes including French and Spanish, as well as American History concentrating on Richard Nixon, while Dr Alex MacKinnon is returning to provide astronomy classes, having successfully hosted similar classes in Largs and Inverkip.
