VEHICLE drivers are being warned of a four-hour wait to cross on the ferry from Largs to Cumbrae due to technical problems.
Caledonian MacBrayne has withdrawn MV Loch Fyne, the larger of the two vessels on the route, from service, "due to a technical issue which requires investigation".
The smaller MV Loch Tarbert is operating a single-vessel service leaving Largs at 15 and 45 minutes past each hour and departing Cumbrae on the hour and on the half-hour.
CalMac has warned people to expect long queues and says that travellers' preferred sailing times are not guaranteed.
The ferry operator says MV Isle of Cumbrae is being redeployed to the route to provide cover.
However, CalMac says there is a four-hour wait for vehicles and a 30-minute wait for foot passengers to cross from Largs.
For traffic heading from Cumbrae to the mainland there is a two-hour wait for vehicles and a 30-minute wait for foot passengers.
It follows a weekend of disruption on both sides for travellers, with CalMac suspending service for day trippers just after 2pm on Sunday to ensure people were able to get home safely in the evening.
