Classical music lovers heading to this Sunday's Cathedral of the Isles for the weekly summer concert can expect some rarities and lesser known works from composers from the past.

Tyler Hay is a classical pianist and piano teacher based around Kent and London, and has this weekend's cathedral slot.

The show begins at 3pm and is free of charge, and there will be a collection afterwards.

Tyler has been praised by International Piano Magazine as 'phenomenally good'.

Born in 1994 in Kent, he began learning the piano at the age of six. Tyler studied with Andrew Haigh at the Kent Music Academy for three years before gaining a place to study at the Purcell School in 2007.

Tyler has become a virtuoso pianist, who enjoys tackling some of the most demanding works.

He has performed Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Sonata at Wigmore Hall, Scriabin’s Fifth Piano Sonata at the South Bank’s Purcell Room and, as a result of winning the Senior Concerto Competition at the Purcell School, he played Ravel’s Piano Concerto for the Left Hand at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.

His concert programmes and CD releases often include works by less known composers of the 19th and 20th centuries.
