An internet provider announced earlier today that there were problems affecting customers in the west coast of Scotland.

TalkTalk Telecom Group Limited sent out a social media post on the 'X' forum (formerly known as Twitter) to update users.

Customers connected to exchanges in West Scotland were experiencing a loss of service in the following places: Gourock, Greenock, Largs, Port Glasgow and Newark.

However, the matter has now been fixed.
A TalkTalk spokesperson said: "The problems in West Scotland have now been resolved.

"We appreciate customers' patience during this time."

TalkTalk was founded in 2003 as a subsidiary of Carphone Warehouse and was demerged as a standalone company in March 2010.
