2024 marks not only 200 years of the RNLI but also 60 years of saving lives at sea here in Largs.
And an important resource which has been crucial to the running of the local lifeboat down the decades is the Largs RNLI Fundraising Group who are also celebrating turning 60, and made up of local volunteers.
When the lifeboat arrived in Largs in 1964 it was decided to set up the RNLI Largs Ladies Guild to start fundraising towards the upkeep of the boat.
The Guild continued until 2000 when it was decided to accept men into the organisation and the name was changed to RNLI Largs Fundraising Group.
It has been a busy time with multiple fundraisers taking place throughout the year, the most recent of which was the successful rubber duck race in the Gogo Burn.
An RNLI spokesperson said: "As a charity the RNLI relies on fundraising to allow us to continue to save lives at sea.
"We simply could not do what we do without the RNLI Largs Fundraising Group. Together we are one crew."
The RNLI Fundraising Branch is currently embarking on a recruitment campaign and if you can help please contact Linn on 07767 332097.
