The new session of the Opportunities In Retirement group in Largs commences with the annual open day on Wednesday, September 4.

The committee is inviting all members and those who are thinking of joining to come along to the Largs Community Church halls where the Opportunities In Retirement's varied selection of activities will be showcased.

It will give you the opportunity to chat with the group leaders and put your name down to try something different, as well as catch up with friends or meet new ones over tea and coffee.

Members of the committee look forward to welcoming the public and will be on hand to answer any questions. The open day takes place from 2pm to 4pm.

The OIR carries out a diverse range of activities from learning languages to hillwalking, to keep fit classes and much more.

The long running group has an 800-plus membership, and even has its own premises in the town at the foot of Waterside Street on Irvine Road.
