The Waverley will not be berthing in Millport on Tuesday morning due to weather conditions, while Largs passengers will be able to get on but the boat will not be returning to the town later on in the day.
In a change to the time timetable, Largs ticketholders will instead have to get off at Greenock on the return leg where a bus has been lined up to return customers home.
The Waverley will sail from Greenock (1000), Largs (1130) and Tarbert (1335) for a cruise of Loch Fyne to Inveraray (non-landing).
In the past, the Waverley would berth at the old Millport Pier but since that became inactive, the Waverley has instead berthed at Keppel Pier, near the Field Studies Centre, with Millport Pipe Band on hand to serenade passengers as they go on board.
However, this traditional sight will not be taking place this morning (August 20).
A spokesperson for Waverley Excursions said: "Please note that due to forecast SW winds increasing to gusts of over 40 knots later, Waverley will be unable to call at Keppel today.
"We apologise to our Cumbrae passengers, but this decision has been made in the interest of safety for the ship, passengers and crew.
"Due to the forecast winds later, instead of returning to Largs, Waverley will divert via the Kyles of Bute direct to Greenock.
"Largs passengers will return via inclusive coach connection from Greenock arriving in Largs approx 9pm."
