A passenger fell ill on board a ScotRail train on Tuesday resulting in a 999 call for emergency help.
The rail company explained that train services were delayed yesterday evening due to a passenger being taken ill on a train at Johnstone, as an ambulance was called for.
Railway users were kept updated via ScotRail's 'X' social media feed to the latest position affecting train travel.
There were subsequent delays on the railway line as a result affecting passengers travelling between Glasgow and Largs, Ardrossan, and Ayr.

There was an additional update on ScotRail's 'X' profile that the passenger was in the care of the emergency services. Train services between Glasgow Central and Ardrossan Harbour/Ayr/Largs soon returned to normal following the incident.
