There is no shortage of entertainment on offer in The George this weekend for the opening weekend of the Viking Festival with a trio of live bands as well as their popular monthly comedy stand up event returning.
Mikey Hughes of Big Brother fame is the headliner for the free comedy night on Friday, August 30 which runs from 7.30pm till 9.30pm at the Main Street bar.
A host of other top comedy acts have been lined up for the laughterfest including Jack Carr, Ray Kohli, Adam Smith, Zef, Laura Pryde, Kat Powell and Karin Nixon. The compere will be former West Sound and Q96 presenter Steve Goldie.
And the live music also kicks off on Friday night, with David Whitelaw from 9.30pm till 11.30pm, and then it is electrical guitar whizz Eugene Whyte on Saturday August 31 returning with his celebration of 70s, 80s and 90s music from Gerry Rafferty to Prince and Deacon Blue.
And on Sunday September 1, the live music comes from Kelvingroove at 8.30pm.
