The popular Largs Market returns for Viking Festival weekend on Saturday with plenty of choice on offer for visitors.

The Gallowgate Square marketplace is on the way out to the festival site from the town centre and has a variety of stalls on offer including clothing, arts and crafts, and even card reading.

This market has been running successfully since the summer of 2020, with the opportunity for local vendors to sign up first.

The market day is organised by the Largs Events committee, which is run by local volunteers, alongside SHS Events who also helped co-ordinate the Largs Dogs Day Out and Food and Drink festival earlier in the summer.

It is separate from the Viking Festival which has its own market in the big marquee on Largs esplanade.

The Largs Events team, who are involved in the Gallowgate Square market, are also involved in the co-ordination of the Yuletide Night in December.

Largs Events representatives recently told Largs Community Council that they are also hoping to add further events to their schedule next year including a classic car show, and a musically inspired festival.

The market runs from 10am till 4pm on Saturday.

The Saturday vendor list includes Fruits & Roots, Tea in the Square at Largs Post Office, Sweetsensations, Cakes by A.J & co, Forge Acrylics, lumiescents_candles, Tartan Treasure's, James Wilmot, and Dolly Art Creations

Other vendors include Pawfection, Thelavenderhartco, The Cinnamon Chest, Cocos kitchen, Thistle and Twiggs, The Wood Man & The Wife and Playing Card Readings by Denise, Queen of Clubs.
