THE new owners of a popular island gin distillery are raising a glass for their latest award nomination.

The Isle of Cumbrae Distillers are nominated as one of eight finalists from across the country for the Gin Tourist Destination of the Year in the Scottish Gin Awards 2024.

And the good news doesn't stop there, as two of the distillery's gins - Maura and Nostalgin - have been shortlisted in the London Dry of the Year category.

We previously reported in April that young couple Caroline Christie and Struan Fraser had taken over the management of the Millport distillery.

They are working alongside the current team to bring new skills and ideas to the business and the island, before becoming full owners in the next few years.
