TELEVISION star Judith Ralston was spotted on Cumbrae visiting local businesses including The Newton Bar and Mapes of Millport.

She was joined by fellow celeb and wrestler Grado (Graeme Stevely) who presents BBC One show Scotland's Great Escapes.

We recently reported that the BBC Reporting Scotland weather presenter and meteorologist is looking for help from people in Largs and Millport to identify some of the area's greatest getaway retreats.

The small screen star urged locals to suggest the best retreats and getaway spots for a forthcoming series of Scotland's Great Escapes.

The Newton Bar were delighted to rub shoulders with the famous duo, and stated on their Facebook page: "What an incredible day at The Newton Bar.

"We had the pleasure of serving the lovely Judith Ralston, renowned Scottish meteorologist from the BBC, and the one and only Grado, famous wrestler and star of Two Doors Down.

"It was all about good chat, good vibes, and plenty of laughs. Great food, even better company – we couldn’t ask for more!

"Big thanks to these legends for stopping by, making today extra special."

And Mapes of Millport were also flying the flag for the Isle of Cumbrae as they were visited by the television duo.

They stated on social media: "Delighted, we finally got the chance to introduce our wee shop, Mapes of Millport, to Judith Ralston and Grado. Lovely to have them here."

Scotland's Greatest Escapes features Grado and a team of expert judges as they discover delightful Scottish getaways in their telly programme - hand-picked by the public.

From wellness retreats to adrenaline-fuelled activity breaks, romantic getaways to family fun, each episode showcases the top three destinations in their category to be road-tested by a family or group of friends with a passion for that particular holiday style.
