NEXT year's Largs Viking Festival will kick off on Saturday, August 30.

Following on from the success of this year's event, the dates for the 2025 spectacular have already been announced.

Organisers say the festival will run until Sunday, September 7, with the traditional fireworks, battle re-enactment and torchlight parade set to return.

Thousands of people headed to Largs earlier this month to enjoy the finale of one the town's most popular events of the year which was filled with glorious skies, big crowds and Vikings.

The festival drew to a dramatic conclusion with the Festival of Fire, Viking battle re-enactment, torchlight parade and traditional fireworks.

Crowds - with people travelling from as far as the US - flocked to the town to witness the gripping re-enactment, participate in the torchlight procession and a grab a closer view of the burning of the longboat.

Crowds also enjoyed rides, stalls and attractions during the week alongside the ever-popular Viking Village.
