THE Roman Catholic Church in Millport got the opportunity to welcome Bishop Frank Dougan on his first pastoral visit to Cumbrae on Sunday.
The Lady of Perpetual Succour gave Bishop Frank a warm welcome for Sunday service.
A spokesperson said: "What great joy for Our Lady of Perpetual Succour parish in Millport, to welcome Bishop Frank Dougan on his first Pastoral visit to the community!
"We thank him for his powerful message and for his great warmth and easy manner.
"May God bless him richly, protect him and sustain him in his onerous duties!"
The Lanarkshire priest continues on from Archbishop William Nolan who was in the position from 2014 to 2022 when he became Archbishop of Glasgow, since then it has been administered by Fr William McFadden.
Fr Dougan, who left the role of parish priest at Our Lady of Lourdes in East Kilbride in December 2023, has also served at churches in Hamilton and Rutherglen, and was ordained in 2001.
