A CHILD has been reported by police following an alleged assault at Largs railway station last month.

The incident happened on August 22 and police have confirmed that a youth has been reported to the Children's Panel in relation to the alleged offence.

The incident was contained within the monthly crime report provided by Police Scotland to Largs Community Council - and was one of three assault incidents reported in the town during the past month.

An assault took place in Largs Main Street on August 28 during the Viking Festival weekend, which has so far not been resolved, and is still being investigated by officers.

Police are also investigating a third incident which took place on August 31 in which a retail worker was allegedly assaulted in Gallowgate Street.

Police told the community council that Viking Festival week was very busy for the town, with additional patrols throughout the event.
