FOUR inspiring Ayrshire business leaders will be sharing their stories with the entrepreneurs of the future as part of an annual business week.

The titans of education and industry will be talking to aspiring bosses as part of a lunch event arranged by Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce alongside Developing the Young Workforce (DYW).

It is just one of the highlights of the chamber’s Ayrshire Business Week that brings together companies from throughout the area for a range of sessions.

Addressing the future leaders will be Angela Cox, principal and chief executive of Ayrshire College; Billy Bowie, managing director of Billy Bowie Special Projects; Derek Pierce, managing director of J & D Pierce; and Linda Johnstone, co-founder of Auchrannie Resort.

Angela said: “I’m honoured to share my own journey as part of this event, and I hope it inspires the next generation of leaders to pursue their own paths with resilience and determination.

“At Ayrshire College, we are committed to empowering people for a changing world, and by helping to develop future leaders, we not only enhance their personal growth but also contribute to the long-term success of our communities and industries."

Bosses are encouraged to take their apprentices and management hopefuls along to the event at The Lochside House Hotel on Thursday, October 3.

Gillian Longmuir, DYW Ayrshire regional lead, said: “We have an incredible line-up of panellists with some fantastic stories to tell. Although all four of our guests have achieved great success, their journeys are very different.

“It is so important for young people to see that there isn’t just one route to achieving their goals. Hopefully, by hearing these stories, they will appreciate that the road to success can take many twists and turns.

“We want our future captains of industry to see what they can achieve if they have a plan, the right support and the drive to get where they want to be.”

Ayrshire Business Week starts on Monday and includes speed networking, a workshop on harnessing digital for business success and culminates in the Ayrshire Business Awards dinner at Ayr Racecourse where this year’s winners will be revealed.
