A POPULAR activity on the Millport September Weekend calendar has had to switch locations in an eleventh hour change to the programme.
The ever popular sandcastle building competition will be taking place at Kames Bay at 10am on Saturday, September 28, and not at Newton Bay as originally planned.
A spokesperson for Visit Cumbrae said: "We look forward to seeing everyone there for some creative sand fun! Spread the word and bring the best designs."
The September Weekend festival has been running for over 80 years on the island, and is very much a traditional and family fun weekend away from the modern day technological world.
It is filled with traditional family fun activities including a crabbing competition on the beach, fireworks, and and a family ceilidh.
