THE Church of The Nazarene in Largs has unveiled its October programme of Common Ground events.

The community event runs on Thursday afternoons at the place of worship in Aitken Street in the heart of the town centre.

It has been running for over a year, offering community meals and the opportunity for people to come together and enjoy a chat.

The event is described as a table for the community to gather around within The Church of the Nazarene with bargain meals, with a suggested £2 donation fee and kids eat free.

The October programme is as follows:

  • October 2 - Macaroni Cheese and Garlic Bread
  • October 10 - Harvest Feast
  • October 17 - Break (School holiday)
  • October 24 - Roast Chicken, veg and mash
  • October 31 - Hallowe'en Picky Tea

Doors open at 4.30pm, and dinner is served at 5pm.

The event is run by Church of the Nazarene pastors Tasha Alison and Steve Fountain who are both passionate about nutritious food.

They say it is an opportunity to connect with old friends and meet new ones.
