A BUSY month lies ahead for North Ayrshire Family Society as it begins its autumn season of activities - and with Hallowe'en coming up, it seems an ideal time to tackle the history of witchcraft.
The society (formerly Largs and North Ayrshire FHS) was formed in 1988.
Its aim is to promote the study of family history in the local government authority area of North Ayrshire.
The first talk will be on Tuesday, October 8 when Jillian McFarlane will be giving a talk on 'Graveyard Robbers & Witchcraft'.
The meeting will be held in Largs Museum, Kirkgate House, Manse Court at 7.30 pm. All welcome.
The Joint Meeting of Ayrshire Family History Societies takes place on Thursday, October 17, and will be hosted by Troon Family History Society.
Chris Paton of Largs will be giving a talk on “Using DNA in Family History Research”.
This meeting will be at Portland Church Hall, St. Meddans Street, Troon, KA10 6JU starting at 7.30pm, with tea, coffee and nibbles to follow.
And the society's latest 'Find Your Ain Folk' workshop will be on Friday, October 25 in Largs Museum from 2pm to 3.30pm.
