THE Clyde Coast and Cumbraes Men's Shed enjoyed a successful coffee morning and open day on Saturday.
A total of £247 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support on the big day with the sun shining.
The open day was an opportunity to discuss or ask questions about the final stages of the community asset transfer of the Brisbane Centre.
The move will enable the group to continue and expand on the wonderful facility and activities that the group has created and provided over the last 18 months.
A men's shed spokesperson said: "Thank you to everyone who came along and donated cash and cakes for a terrific day.
"A special thank you to The Three Reasons, and the team at Home Kitchen for their donations of cakes, sandwiches and delicious steak pies."
The shed has not only revitalised the Brisbane Centre in town, but has become a beacon of hope and support for scores of people.
It is 18 months since the voluntary run operation launched and now has a membership of over 80 people.
Its main purpose is to provide a place for men to get together, chat and work as a team in producing various woodcraft to boost men's mental health.
Pop into the shed on Tuesdays or Saturdays for more information.
