THUNDER and lightning and a hailstorm brought proceedings to a halt at Largs Golf Club on Saturday afternoon.
Heavy rain, claps of thunder, and flash lightning hit the area at around 12.45pm on Saturday.
And members of Largs Golf Club were out in green taking part in the Megabucks Competition, which had to be brought to an immediate halt due to the adverse weather.
A spokesperson said: "Due to hail, rain, thunder and lightning, today's Megabucks Competition has been abandoned.
"The catering team are ready for anyone who is heading in off the course.
"We will re-arrange the competition at a later date."
Walkers on the Fairlie walking and cycling path parallel to the golf course also had to run for cover as the adverse weather hit the area.
