ONE of the founding members of the Friends of Wemyss Bay Railway Station has died.
Nancy Cameron's death was announced by the group on social media.
Nancy helped set up the volunteer group 15 years ago and worked tirelessly to beautify the station with floral arrangements, gardens and the second-hand bookshop.
Her work, and that of her fellow Friends, helped Wemyss Bay win the World Cup of Stations crown last year.
A spokesperson for the Friends said on the group's Facebook page: "We are very sad to announce the passing of our founder member Nancy Cameron.
"Nancy was the driving force behind the establishment of the Friends in 2009, and chaired the organisation for its first six years to 2015. She was from then on our honorary president.
"Nancy steered the establishment of the flower displays, the bookshop, the station garden and many other aspects of the work we see today.
"Our thoughts are with her husband Dugald, and her sister Sheena, at this difficult time."
Nancy's funeral takes place on Wednesday, October 16 at 12 noon at the Clyde Coast and Garnock Valley Crematorium.
The bookshop will be closed that day as a mark of respect.
