THE new Bishop of Argyll and The Isles will be visiting the Cathedral of the Isles at a service of Sung Evensong on Saturday, October 26.
The Right Reverend David Railton was recently consecrated in the Cathedral Church of St John the Divine in Oban, and will be installed in this second cathedral in the combined Diocese of Argyll and The Isles at a service of Sung Evensong at 3.30pm.
Following his recent consecration in Oban, Rev Railton said: "“I’m looking forward to being with the congregations across the Diocese in the days and weeks to follow.
"There are, of course, challenges ahead, but if we do what we do with joy in our hearts, and if we continue to put our trust in God, I know the Spirit will continue to shine brightly across this wonderful part of God’s creation.”
The Reverend Canon Alex Boyd of the Cathedral of the Isles described it as an important event in the life of the Scottish Episcopal Church and the Diocese of Argyll and The Isles at The Cathedral of The Isles.
Bishop David succeeds Bishop Keith Riglin, who passed away in September last year after a short illness.
