TALENTED young up and coming golfers were good sports as they posed for the Largs and Miillport Weekly News in 1989.

We turn the clock back to 35 years ago this week when the Largs Golf Club junior prizegiving took place.

It was also the Routenburn Golf Club prizegiving for the ladies as the main golf club season reached its end.

The Millport Boys Brigade were looking smartly dressed and ready for service. As late photographer Walter Kerr told us in his handwritten note accompanying the below photograph: "The boys of the Millport company have carried out a lot of activities including camping, football, firefighting, swimming, badminton, basketball, seamanship. They have a lady captain Ms Jackie Wilson and she is very ably assisted by a member of very good officers."
