A LONG-SERVING teacher said goodbye to Cumbrae pupils and colleagues as she headed off into retirement.
Pupil support teacher Sally Buchanan at Cumbrae Primary drew to a close her 33 years in education with North Ayrshire Council, where she spent over 19 years at the island's only school.
Before she set off on her retirement, she was given a warm goodbye by the pupils and her colleagues.
Head teacher Julie McAleese told the News: "Sally has been a valued and dedicated member of the Cumbrae team for over 19 years, teaching many children through the years.
"She has been a patient, kind and very knowledgeable teacher and hundreds of our children have benefitted from her nurturing manner and expertise.
"She will be very much missed. We all wish her the very best for her well deserved retirement."
The News would like to wish Sally a very happy retirement.
