PEOPLE can gain an intriguing insight into the hyperbaric chamber in West Kilbride and how it helps alleviate conditions including multiple sclerosis.
One of the micro talk events at the West Kilbride Parish Church concerns this very subject on Saturday, October 26 at 4pm.
The chamber, based in Manse Road, allows people living with multiple sclerosis to stabilise their condition by allowing them to inhale pure oxygen.
The chamber is designed to help people living with MS by increasing the flow of blood around the body without increasing the heartrate of the patient, and helps alleviate the symptoms.
Lynne McDonald is the guest speaker, having retired from the NHS there years ago, after a 40 year career in nursing and midwifery.
She is now a volunteer at the Clyde Coast MS Centre in West Kilbride which operates the hyperbaric chamber facility.
It has been running in the town since the 1990s, after it was launched by the late Jim Duncan.
