A MOTORBOAT with three people on board was found in difficulty on the Firth of Clyde last Friday lunchtime.
The pagers of the Largs lifeboat volunteer crew sounded at 1.30pm on November 1 in response to a tasking from HM Coastguard.
Lifeboat crew quickly assembled at the lifeboat station and launched.
On arrival the helm assessed the situation and due to the close proximity to the ferry route the decision was made to tow the casualty vessel to the nearest safe haven.
On arrival at Largs Yacht Haven, the lifeboat crew and casualty vessel were met by members of the local Coastguard Rescue Team.
Largs lifeboat then returned to the lifeboat station where it was cleaned, refuelled and made ready for service.
Operations manager John Griffiths said: "If you get into difficulty at sea or along the coast, or spot someone else in trouble, always dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
