REMEMBRANCE Sunday took place in West Kilbride on Sunday with a short service held at the war memorial.

It followed a church service conducted by Reverend James McNay at West Kilbride Parish Church at 10.50am.

Reverend McNay also conducted the service at the war memorial where a minute's silence was held.

West Kilbride Boys Brigade, the community council, and other local groups were involved, and piper Michael McGowan provided the skirl of the bagpipes.

And Madam Pauline Hunter hotfooted it from the service at Largs War Memorial in order to attend West Kilbride too.
