AN AYRSHIRE dog charity that reunites lost pets with their owners is looking to raise cash for new state-of-the-art equipment.
Ayrshire Drone Dog Rescue (ADDR) work across the area using hi-tech equipment and a team of dedicated volunteers.
They are often called out to some unusual circumstances and step in to support as many dogs as they can.
Now the charity is looking to raise money to support the use of equipment that can enhance the work they do.
They are looking to purchase new batteries for their new "all-weather" drone, which will allow volunteers to search for lost pets in weather conditions that other drones would be unable to operate in.
ADDR wants to purchase four more batteries for the drone, at a total cost of £1,200.
Donations are needed as the batteries offer just 40 minutes of invaluable flight time, but the equipment requires two batteries at a time to function.
Launching an appeal, the team said: "We’ve moved up the purchase of our new “all-weather drone,” enabling us to fly in conditions that our other drones can’t handle.
"This incredible piece of equipment has advanced thermal imaging capabilities, allowing us to quickly check areas that are otherwise inaccessible on foot.
"Currently, we only have two batteries. The drone needs both to operate, which limits us to just 40 minutes of flight time. We’re aiming to buy four more batteries at a cost of £1,200.
"Your support has always been invaluable to us.
"If there any extra funds this will be used to purchase more red torches and other equipment that can be lent to owners. After the busiest firework season ever, we realised we need more equipment."
You can support their efforts online, or by going to ADDR's Facebook page or website.
