KIND-hearted residents in West Kilbride have smashed a fundraiser aimed at improving the village's cemetery.
Organised by locals Fiona Eager and Eddie McCallie, a target of £150 was set to help plant up one of the cemetery's borders.
However, in less than 24 hours, more than £500 has been donated by generous residents towards the project.
Fiona explained: "Friends of West Kilbride cemetery have adopted three borders at the entrance of the cemetery.
"We have planted up two borders at our own expense, but we would like help to buy plants for the biggest border.
"We are buying plants that will give colour all year and last for years. Help us to transform an unloved space to one where we can show respect to all our loved ones who have passed."
Residents have been donating in their droves and leaving kind messages for the pair who are trying to improve the area.
One donor said "thank you for all your work at the cemetery", and another added "keep up the excellent work and thank you".
