A NEW sewing club in Largs was celebrating huge success that saw the community unite in an open day earlier this month.
Women from across North Ayrshire gathered at the Largs SWI sewing club open day on Saturday, November 2 to connect, create and learn all things sewing in a lively, hands-on environment.
Participants were treated to an array of activities, from altering trousers and skirts to creating custom bags and exploring the intricacies of sewing machines.
The day was not only a productive one but also filled with warmth and hospitality, with everyone enjoying homemade cakes, tea, and plenty of friendly conversation.
Members came away with new skills and new friends, with the club fostering a spirit of support and community.
A spokesperson from the group said: "Thanks to overwhelming community interest, we’re fully booked until April next year but will open more courses in the New Year to meet growing demand.
"Feedback from those who have already attended our workshops has been overwhelmingly positive, with comments like, 'friendly and relaxed,' 'fun and learnt a lot'.
"Every attendee surveyed would recommend the club to their friends."
Largs SWI Sewing Club is open to all women interested in joining a welcoming community while developing sewing skills.
Membership is free and people don't need to be part of the Largs SWI to join. Courses range in price, from £5 for the beginners sewing course to £15 for dressmaking classes.
