TIME is running out to have your say on North Ayrshire Council's plan to implement an additional council tax levy on second homes.
The Scottish Government has introduced new powers which enable local authorities to double the rate of council tax payable on second homes.
It aims to increase the availability of housing by encouraging more homes to be used for living in as well as generating additional revenue for councils to help protect vital services.
North Ayrshire's community consultation on the matter is set to conclude tomorrow (Thursday, November 21.)
A council spokesperson said: "We are seeking the views of people from across North Ayrshire, especially our island communities on Arran and Cumbrae, on the proposal that North Ayrshire Council utilises these powers to implement an additional council tax levy on second homes from April 1, 2025.
"Please fill out the survey before the closing date on Thursday, November 21."
