POLICE are investigating reports of an alleged assault in a Largs supermarket.

The incident happened in the town's Co-op, based in Gallowgate Street, on October 17.

A crime report revealed that a shoplifting incident happened followed by the alleged assault on the shop worker.

The matter was subsequently reported to Police Scotland.

Police are carrying on their enquiries in relation to the incident. The report was contained within the monthly briefing covering mid-October to mid-November provided to Largs Community Council.
