GENEROUS locals in West Kilbride are hoping to raise money to give a delivery driver a well-deserved Christmas bonus.

Kind-hearted villagers have set up a fundraiser for a second year in a row to give local Evri courier Mark Thomson a £1,000 Christmas bonus.

Last year, villagers successfully raised £2,430 in just 15 days for the driver and his family, but it is hoped that this year can be the best Christmas bonus yet.

At the time, the dedicated driver revealed that he made over 8,500 deliveries to homes in the village during December alone.

This year's JustGiving page was set up by villager Vari Edwards, who praised Mark for his continued dedication to make sure every gift is delivered on time during the busy run-up to Christmas.

She said: "At this time of year, for the past few years, our community has come together to thank Mark, our amazing Evri courier for going above and beyond.

"Mark works extremely hard delivering all our parcels. He goes out his way to help in anyway he can. Let’s make 2024 the best Xmas bonus yet.

"Thanks for all you do Mark."
