THERE are reports of treacherous conditions on the A760 between Largs and Kilbrinie this morning.
With Storm Bert bringing snow and high winds which is expected to change to rain later in the day, motorists have been reporting challenging conditions on the road this morning.
One driver said: "The Haylie Brae (Largs to kilbirnie) road is bad with snow & black ice.
"Cars not going above 10/15mph.
"Please take care everyone."
Another motorist reported: "Horizontal snow, slippy, hellish visibility and debris falling from trees. If you're looking for a reason to not to go- this is it -freezing."
There have also been reports of electricity repeatedly coming on and off in some areas of the town including Main Street, Middleton Drive, George Street, Waterside Street and Sinclair Drive.
Play for the day has been cancelled at Largs Golf Club after a decision taken just after 9am.
A spokesperson said: "Due to Storm Bert, the course, clubhouse and Pro Shop will be closed today. Current conditions are horrendous.
"Please stay safe if you have to venture outside today."
The Met Office currently have a yellow weather warning in place - Heavy snow on Saturday, followed by a rapid thaw and subsequent rain on Saturday night, may cause some disruption, they say.
