MANAGEMENT from a new superstore which opened in Largs last week have thanked customers after a warm welcome to the town.
Scores of shoppers turned up and queued in the bitterly cold conditions for the opening of the superstore premises in Main Street which include Peacocks, Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Bonmarché and Ponden Home Interiors.
A ribbon cutting took place to usher in the new shopping era for the former M&Co building, which had been shut for 18 months but now has a new lease of life.
A video of the official opening was watched over 20,000 times on the Largs and Millport Weekly News Facebook page.
Sharon Lamb, retail director for Peacocks, said: "The response from the customers has been tremendous in welcoming all the new brands into the town.
"We are really looking forward to a long & committed partnership with Largs. We have created 21 new roles across the three brands."
